Wood Hath Hope brings a musical expression of hope and trust in the word of God for every Christian on the journey of faith. Originally published by NALR in 1978, this is Jesuit Father John Foley's debut solo album, a collection of liturgical songs for assemblies, choirs, folk groups and musicians for a variety of feasts and seasons.

Written, recorded and released while Father Foley was still a member of the St. Louis Jesuits, Wood Hath Hope features some of his all-time most beloved hymns, including his popular setting of Psalm 34, "The Cry of the Poor"; the gentle yet powerful "Come to the Water" and the unifying "One Bread, One Body."

The St. Louis Jesuit’s belief that people at worship need music that is colorful and melodic yet not beyond reach rings true in this collection. Their goal of creating excellent music, music that is for the people, continues to bless the Church some three decades later.

Note: This contains some Mass parts that are no longer approved for liturgical use.
